Job Description:

Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):
Bachelor's degree and clinical certificates (preferred, not required);
Minimum of 3 years' experience in cardiac telemetry, electrocardiogram, electrophysiology tech, monitor tech, or device monitoring or a clinical background as a RN or LPN and have a minimum of 2 years of cardiac clinical experience are required for consideration;
Minimum of 1 year experience in cardiac services required; 1 year cardiac device experience preferred;
Cardiac Device Specialist Certification;
Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and pacemaker/ICD analysis skills required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to perform a full spectrum of Cardiac Device interrogations and/or programming's (pacemakers, ICD, loop recorder, and home monitor equipment) in an outpatient setting, including: battery and device parameter assessment, lead function assessment, and arrhythmia assessment
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular diseases and cardiac medications
Skills necessary to accurately document clinical history and summary of test procedure in electronic medical record. Data will be summarized and reported to include pertinent patient information to assist the reading physician in clinical decision making
Ability to read and interpret complex rhythm strips
Knowledge and ability to operate, triage and/or troubleshoot interrogated device information and various industry programmers and software
Knowledge and ability to assess wounds post procedure (new device implants, generator replacements, ILR) to ensure that the incision is healing appropriately.
Ability to remain flexible in response to changes in work demands, variety of projects, varying timelines and prioritize job responsibilities
Ability to recognize and responds immediately and appropriately to potential emergency situations that arise
Experience in presenting patient education
Ability to work independently and perform duties in an accurate and timely manner
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required

Promotes personal and patient safety
Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients
Makes changes to the settings of the device per physician direction. Works with the cardiologists and extended staff to do device checks and patient device education
Recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions and "End of Service" indicators; notifies cardiologist and assists in scheduling patients for follow up or replacement as indicated
Educates patients on home monitoring and clinic follow up scheduling
Troubleshoot patient transmission issues
Records pertinent data regarding the patient's device into a computerized database.
