48073 ***GENERAL SUMMARY:The Infusion Coordinator LPN is
responsible for patient scheduling and ensures accurate and
appropriate clinical patient information prior to start of care at
the AIC. Assesses patients for appropriateness to receive therapy
in an ambulatory setting. Schedules all admission patients and
coordinates their appointments, coordinates, and schedules all
chemotherapy appointments. Works closely with referral sources to
identify problems and resolutions. Coordinates care with AIC
Registration and Billing Team, AIC Pharmacy Team, referral sources,
and Charge RN as needed. Works effectively with physician offices
to obtain hold/resume orders and labs as needed.Under the direction
of the Patient Access Registration Front Line Manager, the Infusion
Coordinator LPN, in addition to performing all Registrar tasks for
Chemotherapy and non-oncology infusion patients, is recognized as a
subject matter expert and mentors staff to exceed Beaumont Health
and departmental standards along with assigned performance metrics.
Performs as a Management Team representative in supervisor's
absence to resolve problems/issues/questions/concerns. May assist
in scheduling staff, assigning tasks, working task lists, and
assigned work queues, managing processes for the completion of
special projects assigned and resolving problems as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responds to calls including patients, physicians,
physicians' office staff, peers, and determines the urgency of the
situation. Suggests appropriate referrals.Answers telephones for
department, prioritizes, screens, and redirects calls. Answers
questions, handles routine matters, and takes messages.Completes
all types of outpatient registrations in a professional, accurate,
customer-oriented, and timely manner.Obtains information from
patient health insurance or managed care identification cardWorks
with individual physician offices and their office managers on
obtaining correct information for scheduling appointmentsSchedules
appointments for patients on BEACON and works with the manager to
meet these goalsStays abreast of regulatory requirements and
company compliance policiesInform staff of relevant changes and
developments in payer requirementsAttends in-service presentations,
and complete mandatory education week including, but not limited
to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS
and OSHA standards. Obtaining and verifying authorizations as
required by insurance companies and plans by contacting the
patient, when applicable, and coordinating with the financial
clearance center, when appropriate. Works with central billing
office in resolving and resubmitting denied claims. Analyzes
accounts within assigned work queues logistical and /or clerical
problem resolution related to the patients' medical record,
authorization, and billing issues.Keeps abreast of changes in
authorization process, insurance policies, billing requirements,
rejection, or denial codes as they pertain to claim processing and
coding.Assists patients with questions or concerns.Mentors and/or

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical School of Nursing
(LPN) Work Experience: Customer Service experience required.
Preferred: Working knowledge of EpicPreferred: Oncology Clinical
backgroundPreferred: Chemo experience Certification, Licensure,
Registration: Current valid and unrestricted licensure in the State
of Michigan - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)HFMA CRCR certification
within 6 months
