Gastroenterology-Inflammatory Bowel Diseases - Beaumont Hospital

Beaumont Health seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician
with interest in Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinical service,
research, and education to join an established gastroenterology
team at the Royal Oak campus, approximately 30 minutes outside of
Detroit. This large academic medical center with more than a
thousand inpatient beds serves as a tertiary referral center for
the region. U.S News & World Report for 2021-2022 ranked Beaumont,
Royal Oak 1st -in gastroenterology in Michigan and 19th GI surgery
in the nation
This position will be integral in expanding advanced
gastroenterology services at Beaumont, Royal Oak, joining
established hepatology/liver transplant and advanced/interventional
gastroenterology services. We are also concurrently recruiting a GI
motility specialist. -
The ideal candidate would have completed an additional year of IBD
fellowship training or has otherwise developed expertise in caring
for patients with IBD beyond the standard 3-year gastroenterology
fellowship training. Physicians joining the gastroenterology team
will also be appointed to the faculty of the Oakland University
William Beaumont School of Medicine and be a member of the
Beaumont, Royal Oak gastroenterology fellowship core clinical
faculty.
Applicants must be board eligible/certified in gastroenterology,
able to obtain a Michigan medical license and meet hospital
credentialing requirements. Interested candidates at all levels of
clinical experience in IBD will be considered.
Responsibilities will include evaluation and management of patients
with IBD, involvement in clinical trials as related to IBD, rounds
on the hospital general gastroenterology consultation service with
the gastroenterology fellows, inpatient consults on patients with
IBD, teaching of gastroenterology fellows, residents, and medical
students, involvement in colorectal tumor board, and direct
engagement with referring providers, among other
responsibilities.
