position is for a nursing role focused on delivering professional
nursing care. The clinical nurse utilizes the framework of the
nursing process. Care is provided by incorporating patient-family
centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse operates under the
direction of the Nurse Leader. Quality patient care is delivered
according to established policies and procedures. Essential
functions include applying the nursing process of assessment,
planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of the
patient/family/significant other. The Clinical Nurse applies the
Core Concepts of Patient- and Family-Centered Care in practice.
Personalized care is provided for each patient and family. The
impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient
outcomes is recognized. Partnership with patient/family input and
goals is essential in planning the plan of care. Quality care is
delivered that meets or exceeds the expectations for core measures
and patient experience. Assistance is provided to individuals
considering their special needs, age-related, and cultural-related
needs. The roles of the interdisciplinary team and patient/family
care partners are recognized and utilized appropriately. Delegation
of appropriate tasks is carried out competently. The nurse
demonstrates knowledge and competently performs technical
procedures. Documentation in the patient record is timely,
accurate, and concise. Teaching strategies for patient/family are
developed and documented appropriately. Leadership in the
professional practice setting is demonstrated. Responsibilities
include mentoring peers, educating patients, and maintaining
current knowledge in clinical practice. Participation in
department-based activities, staff meetings, and committees is
required. Engagement in care hand-offs, including the patient,
family, and care partners, is actively encouraged. Cultural
traditions and lore of the community served are embraced and
