Radiology Tech Location: Detroit, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,390 per week Shift Information: 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Radiographer Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: General Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2-3 years License: ARRT registration required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Experience in a Trauma level 1 facility Description: Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs Radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares patients for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient medical history, as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes anatomical structure of patients, sets up equipment, and performs the Radiologic procedure. Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied. Utilizes patient immobilization as needed. May select and administer intravenous contrast media. Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care if a reaction should occur. Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure being performed. Follows infection control practices and techniques. Ensures that adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Follows standards for performing patient care functions as required for optimal patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, comfort, and legal/ethical rights. Completes all necessary work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation. When needed, assumes the responsibility of teaching new hires and students while maintaining own responsibilities and duties. Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS. Completes all study indexing including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study in the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the Radiologist before performing the study. Demonstrates consistent standards of excellence including open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, and respecting diversity. Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary to support all clinical and billing functions. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Works in a hospital environment with a fixed unit or in various departments using a mobile unit. May be potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized. May be exposed to high-voltage equipment and potentially contagious patients. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients in excess of 10 lbs. Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Must maintain required hours of continued education. Certifications/Licensure Required: Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must obtain registry within 6 months of hire. Healthcare Provider certification (BLS) required. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors. Must practice customer skills as provided through ongoing training and in-services.
