Job Summary

Operates forklift machinery to lift, load or move material as directed.

Job Duties

  • Operate powered industrial equipment
  • Move raw material throughout the facility
  • Move finished product throughout the facility
  • Discard scrap
  • Take proper precautionary measures when operating machinery
  • Support essential logistic operations through storage and transportation of equipment
  • Notify technicians in advance when forklifts are in need of service
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Perform work under direct supervision
  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
  • Typically require a high school diploma or equivalent and 0 to 2 years of experience, including experience driving powered industrial equipment
  • Powered industrial equipment certification preferred
