Job Description:
BH - Royal Oak, Part-time Rotating
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a
variety of functions related to receiving, stocking and delivery of
medications within an acute care or non-acute care pharmacy.
Performs pharmacy functions, not requiring a license to support the
operations of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Hospital In-Patient Pharmacy:
1. Receives and signs for incoming medications comparing items and
quantities received to purchase order.
2. Delivers and stocks IV solutions throughout the hospital.
3. Delivers received medications to appropriate location in various
areas of the department.
4. Rotates stock and maintains a clean stock area.
5. Deliver non-controlled medications to automated dispensing
cabinets, utilizing barcode scanning.
6. Delivers labeled patient specific-medications to patient care
areas.
7. Transfer completed prepared medications and stock between
pharmacy areas.
8. Performs related duties as assigned such as annual physical
inventory preparation.
Outpatient Pharmacy:
1. Receives and signs for incoming medications comparing items and
quantities received to purchase order.
2. Assists in stocking medication within the pharmacy.
3. Rotates stock and maintains a clean stock area.
4. Packages and ships home delivery prescriptions.
5. Orders shipping supplies.
6. Responds to customer requests for package tracking
information.

behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental
safety programs.
7. Completes all required compliance standards that may be
department specific and/or identified by the organization.
8. Maintains current licensure, registration, and/or certification,
as applicable, at all times.

A. Education / Training:
* A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a
general high school diploma program or GED.
B. Work Experience:
* Prefer previous hospital pharmacy experience or graduate of a
pharmacy technician training program.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:
* None required.
