Biomedical Electronic Service TechnicianQualifications: The minimum education requirement for this position is an associate degree in Electronic Technology, or a Military Equivalent.Job Description: Biomedical Engineering at Beaumont Health has openings for Biomedical Equipment Technicians at multiple campuses. The positions range from a BMETI to a BMETIII based on experience.Duties and Responsibilities: A Biomedical Equipment Technician's primary responsibility is the maintenance of medical equipment and systems.Applicants to this position should be skilled in independent decision making. Biomedical Equipment Technicians should be prepared to follow general procedures, meet due dates, and achieve goals determined by patient safety, department operations, and the safe and effective clinical use of medical equipment.A Biomedical Equipment Technician should possess knowledge of technical principles as well as the ability to adapt or modify those principles to a specific task. Technical skills should include trouble shooting clinical equipment systems, electrical wiring, circuitry, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Biomedical Equipment Technicians are often required to interface with clinical staff. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to convey and gather information about equipment or provide work direction. Strong customer service and communication skills are also necessary in the response to emergent situations.The work, as it is typically performed, consists of moderate physical exertion such that specific, common physical abilities may be needed to perform the job. The applicant must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This job demands significant amounts of time of repetitive stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling to repair or maintain equipment. Fine motor skills are also required.Job Type: Full-timePay: $12.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:
