for a talented Senior Business Analyst- Solution Architect,
eCommerce to join our team specializing in System/Information
Technology for our Components Business Segment in Rochester Hills,
MI/ your remote home office.In this role, you will make an impact
in the following ways:
- Assess and apply new solution designs against defined
architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in
alignment with the enterprise architecture strategies. Defines new
architecture solutions where needs are identified. Where current
enterprise strategies and principles do not meet needs, drive
changes back to the enterprise. Defines complex application and
solution designs for specific systems in coordination with project
teams.
- Defines component breakdown of the system; performs functional
allocation to the components; establishes interfaces between
systems and among system components.
- Develops standards, design patterns and configurations that can
be reused as building blocks for other solutions.
- Collaborates with project/product teams to understand requested
capabilities and provides the right solutions.
- Performs complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future
state capabilities.
- Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to
manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.
- Audits the solution design to ensure compliance with
architectural patterns and standards.
- Monitors architecture solution performance and prevents
performance issues when introducing new capabilities on the
system.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, including Functional
Excellence, to apply strategy to architecture future state
architecture and develops roadmaps to realize future state.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and focused on
driving comparative advantage for product / function / business
unit globally.
- Cultivates strong relationships with industry experts;
participates and may present at conferences and round tables.
- Coaches and mentors less experienced Solution Architects.Skills

business needs.
- Solution Design - Creates and defines the solution design
complete with instrumentation and measurement, using industry
standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation
to synthesize diagrams, models and documentation in order to build
a solution that meets buildability, business, technical, security,
governance and compliance requirements.
- Strategic Roadmap Planning - Produces a high-level, multi-year
product and capability roadmap utilizing internal and external
business resource, asset and market knowledge and experience to
communicate the organization's focus and priorities to internal and
external stakeholders.
- System Solution Architecture - Creates solution designs and
patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM), CLEAN
standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to
Cummins standards.Education, Licenses, Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical
discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required. This
position may require licensing for compliance with export controls
or sanctions regulations.Experience
- Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is
required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and
design for cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of the latest trends in
emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes:
- Analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and
governance and creating solution designs from them
- Proven Architecture and design experience for cloud-based
platforms
- Significant experiences in the following are preferred:
- Experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems
and data
- Experience in defining and weighing the trade-offs of different
solution options
- Experience with IoT technology
- Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOpsOVERVIEW:
- The Sr. Business Analyst / Solution Architect, Global
e-Commerce is a critical role within the IS organization and
responsible for the discovery, design and implementation of
innovative technology solutions that deliver valuable capabilities
and support the companys global e-Commerce and Remanufacturing Core
Management strategy. As part of the extended Enterprise
Architecture & Technology Enablement team, and as a top-tier
architect and technical expert, you will be looked to for
determining and directing the implementation of end to end
solutions that address urgent and critical business needs.JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with technology enablement teams in developing best
practices and standards related to security, network, data,
hosting, and infrastructure services.
- Steer global alignment on e-Commerce and Remanufacturing Core
Management solution, applications, and processes to fit the
organizational structure, current trends, and marketing
models.
- Analyze and evaluate current processes and systems, benchmark
best practices and recommend improvement solutions
- Ensure functional and system design specifications meet
established architectural standards
- Ensure strong working relationship with key business users and
management
- Understand the emerging technology and upgrade features for
each process and determine which should be prioritized and
implemented
- Manage and lead a variety of projects from ideation through
implementation. Project range from small, medium, large size, as
well as SDLC & Agile/Scrum
- Develop deep working knowledge of the processes and business
domain.
- Analyze and offer recommendations to improve the use and
execution of business system applications
- Ensure that implemented solutions are maintained, regularly
evaluated, and successfully meets the business requirements based
on performance, cost, and content.
- Own roadmap for solutions/products/tools to enable scale and
operational efficiency through process streamlining, automation and
integration
- Develop reference architectures and design patterns for digital
applications
- Participate in architecture review and approval process
- Document application functionality
- Perform feasibility and functional studies
- Facilitate meetings in gathering demand and solution
needs.
- Develop deep understanding of the data model(s).
- Ownership of the process and information Analysis Quality
Assurance - Functionality (System) & Regression testing
- Assist staffing coordinators who define project team
requirements for projects in solution area
- Work with management to establish professional development
needs for practitioners in solution area.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Engineering, or equivalent experience is required; advanced studies
is plus
- Minimum 10 years of IT work experience leading and implementing
end-to-end information and technology solutions
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IBM WebSphere (WCS) platform
required
- Knowledge and experience with e-Commerce required.
- A strong background leading broad and complex technical
projects with proven success in delivery of scalable IT solutions
in compliance with applicable requirements
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technical integrations,
technologies, and processing environments, including public and
private cloud architectures and SaaS technologies
- Experience architecting & delivering solutions across multiple
enterprise architecture domains (technology, application,
information, and infrastructure)
- Be a well-rounded technical leader with a passion for
innovation and the ability to define and communicate the big
picture (both functional and technical)
- Experience with implementing operations technology and
enterprise integration architectures in engineering &
manufacturing
- Experience with application architecture roadmaps along with
defining contextual, conceptual, and logical models that align both
business and technical capabilities to explain the
architecture
- A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is
preferred
- Ability to travel globally when required up to 25%Job
